Gyeonggi to Delegate Home Medical Care Recipient Management to Local Governments
In accordance with the Korean government’s recent initiative to expand the number of home medical care recipients, Gyeonggi Province will delegate the management of such individuals to local governments.
Each local government will establish a dedicated team for the health and quarantine management of home-based patients while designating hospitals for their 24-hour medical care.
The province will provide these patients with daily necessities and medications during their home care period.

Gyeonggi to Improve Resident Protection Zones on Local Roads
Gyeonggi Province announced plans to improve resident protection zones on local roads from 2022 in cooperation with local governments and the police.
This initiative is aimed at preventing pedestrian accidents along roads that run through local areas.
The province will begin implementing this plan next year for 15 priority road sections.

Gyeonggi Reduces Public Construction Costs through Standard Cost Application
Through the expanded application of standard market rates to public construction projects valued at less than KRW 10 billion, Gyeonggi Province has achieved budgetary savings of approximately KRW 750 million.
These smaller public construction projects had previously been excluded from the application of standard market rates in project cost determination.
However, through the expanded application of standard rates to smaller projects, the province now expects to reduce budgetary expenditures by KRW 10 billion annually.

2021 Korea International Boat Show Opens Online
The 2021 Korea International Boat Show, organized jointly by Gyeonggi Province and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, closed on October 3 after a 3-day run in an online format.
This year’s event featured diverse online contents under the theme of “Let’s Learn and Enjoy Marine Leisure.”
These contents can still be accessed via the show’s website and YouTube channel.

Gyeonggi Presents Talk Show on Labor Rights
On September 30, Gyeonggi Province presented an online talk show on labor rights.
Hosted by specialist Jeon Tae-il (전태일), this show was organized to promote awareness of and respect for the rights of platform-based workers.
In his congratulatory message, Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jaemyung (이재명) asserted that regulatory gaps must be filled and injustices at youth worksites must be corrected.

3rd Gyeonggi Policy Festival
On October 1 and 2, Gyeonggi Province held the 3rd Gyeonggi Policy Festival and gathered diverse policy suggestions from residents.
Staged in an online format under the theme of “Creating Gyeonggi-do with Residents,” this event saw communication between the province and residents on 10 subjects.
The province will share and review the discussion results with related departments, discuss related issues and improvements with residents, and reflect the outcomes in provincial policies.

Gyeonggi to Operate Korea’s First Vaccination Bus
Gyeonggi Province plans to operate a COVID-19 vaccination bus, the first of its kind in Korea, that will circulate among areas with large numbers of foreign workers.
Originally used for the provision of on-site health check services to foreign workers, this bus can now provide 100 vaccination shots daily.
This bus will primarily visit enterprises that provide lists of their foreign employees.
